Fabricate: To fabricate a food is kitchen vernacular for cutting a large item into smaller items or otherwise preparing an item so that it’s ready to cook (often abbreviated as “fab” or “fabbed”). It’s usually used with respect to meat and fish.

Factory raised: This relatively recent descriptor refers to livestock such as pigs and chickens that are raised and processed by agribusiness conglomerates. It denotes high volume production and often signifies a lower quality animal raised in unnatural conditions. (Compare farm raised.)
